Day 165

Went to cycling this morning, I am feeling good!

For Lunch: I just got myself a bowl of cereal the honey almond flax 9 grain crunch, with almond milk. Almond milk is, of course, dairy free, and has much less calories than rice milk, or regular milk.

Day 164

For Lunch: Polipo Con Potate. Octopus with onion, celery, and potato, with lemon and olive oil. and I split a spinach salad with Cassi.

For Dinner: We split a bunch of small plates. Arugula and Fennel salad with Orange. Roasted root vegetables, Baked clams with portuguese sausage. Among a couple of other things. We also had some dessert, some blueberry sorbet and a scoop of caramel gelato.

Home and to bed, after watching the Olympics of course!

Day 164

For Breakfast: Omelette with mushrooms cilantro and jalapeno.

The weather guy said it was going to be nasty today but it is amazing outside. I am done with class for the day and should really dig into hat paper I have due on Monday but I am having a hard time motivating myself to do that. I did motivate myself to do the Ball exercise again this morning. My arms are a little sore.

Day 163

Mom came over after work. I got called off work. We chatted and waited for Dad's plane to get in, he was on a business trip. After he got in we grabbed some food.

For Dinner: Mixed greens with cucumber and tomatoes with grilled chicken breast and a honey balsamic vinaigrette.

Wednesday, February 24, 2010

Day 163

For Breakfast: Smoothie with Fresh banana, frozen strawberries, nonfat plain yogurt, and a touch of 100% apple juice.

Cycling class was so intense today! I pushed myself really hard. After the gym, before class i got a nonfat vanilla latte. When I got home from class I made lunch for Cassi and myself.

For Lunch: Salad with Romaine, Spicy chicken and black beans with a homemade jalapeno cilantro and lime dressing.

I did the Exercise ball workout after lunch. My abs were on fire. For an afternoon snack I had an apple and munched on some sesame honey almonds from Trader joe's.

Day 162

I didn't have any luck finding work pants. :( I got burnt out after I got the nerve to go into Ross and almost had a panic attack, that place freak me out. Cassi and I have the night off and we decided to go up to Whole Foods and get something to make for dinner.

For Dinner: Wild Coho Salmon grilled with blistered asparagus and a piccata sauce.  I seasoned the salmon with just little salt pepper, garlic powder, and dill. The sauce was made on the stove top with a bit of butter, artichokes, capers, fresh cracked pepper and dill with lemon juice.
Cassi and I both have some homework to do, and we want to finish it up before the Olympics start tonight! Also, I have to get to bed nice and early for cycling tomorrow!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot . . . I got my Viking Class midterm back, which I was anxiously waiting for because it's 45% of my grade. I got 100%, didn't miss a single point. That makes me feel super duper!

Day 162

I woke up this morning and did a new workout at home today. Over the weekend Cassi and I bought an exercise ball, along with it came a resistance band and a workout DVD. I decided to try it out this morning and I was pleasantly surprised! It was a great workout and I plan on doing it often. It was just over an hour long, it worked my entire body and I was really working out a sweat. This king of toning work out along side the cycling should be great to kick things up a notch!

For Breakfast: Coffee, Half of a grapefruit.

For Lunch: Healthy Burrito Bowl. Marinated and sauteed onion, zucchini, and bell pepper. (I saved a whole bowl of vegetables from last nights dinner and cooked them up today). With spicy chicken and black beans garnished with fresh jalapeno and cilantro.

Now I am going downtown to but new work pants, they simply won't stay on me anymore, not to mention they are well past their time.

Day 161

For Dinner: Grilled Chicken Breast and grilled vegetable skewers, with Onion, Zucchini and Red Bell Pepper. The veggies were marinated in a red wine vinaigrette with some garlic, thyme, salt, pepper.

For Dessert: 1 scoop of Nonfat Plain frozen yogurt.

Good night!

Day 161

I woke up so tired and sore this morning, but I forced myself out of bed and went to cycling class. It was a good workout. Before I left I ate breakfast.

For Breakfast: High Fiber O's with Rice milk. My container of Rice Milk is almost gone and then I am going to try out Almond milk. I have heard good things, and it is less than half the calories of rice milk, do you know anything about it?

For Lunch: Fresh Romaine with raw sunflower seeds, artichoke hearts and grilled portobello mushroom. with a red-wine vinaigrette.

It is another gorgeous day here in Seattle the Thermometer in the car said it was 61! After class Cassi and I went to Gasworks Park and played frisbee. Now I am home and just finished prepping for dinner, Cassi is taking a nap. I love having food to prep. I sliced and diced vegetables to my heart's content and trimmed the chicken for tonight. We are having our friend Katharine over to watch The Bachelor which I am shamelessly a fan of. I have veggies marinating for veggie kabobs on the grill.

I have not lost weight in almost two weeks. It's getting harder and harder and I need to refocus. No more empty carbs! I need to drink 3X as much water as I have been drinking and really be religious about working out. Besides I need to train for Vegas, and even more importantly the Triathlon. I am making a promise to myself  and to you to kick it into gear!

Day 160

I woke up and cleaned the kitchen this morning. Quite a few dishes had piled up over the weekend and I really needed to clean up.

For Breakfast: Coffee and some high fiber O's with rice milk.

We went to our soccer game today, it was at 11:15. We got there nice and early and then I realized I forgot my knee brace. So, we drove home to get it and ended up being a few minutes late for the game.

I played well, and played the whole game. I can feel myself getting stronger and stronger on the field. I am being cautious but I feel really good.

After the game Cassi and I went to Eastlake Bar and Grill and sat out on their patio that looks out over the lake. It's just a few blocks down the street from our house.

For Lunch: Grilled Salmon with steamed Broccoli and carrots. We shared an Iced Tea.

It was so nice today, bright and sunny it definitely doesn't feel like February. I switched shifts so I went to work tonight. It was again . . . painfully slow but I was able to make some cash and I only had to work a couple of hours.

For Dinner: Sauteed Shitake mushrooms and Broccoli with Shrimp, garlic and a spicy sauce.

Day 159

Woke up really excited to go to Skyler's birthday party. She is turning four today, so obviously she is having a Pink Princess Birthday Party. Cassi and I had some coffee and then went to help set up for the Party. The day was filled with sparkles, cake and tiaras. We always have such a good time hanging out with the kids.

After the party we went to Target to get a few things. We went to Grand Central Bakery for lunch today. It is about two blocks from our house.

For Lunch: We shared a sandwich and a salad, the sandwich was great it was vegetarian with portobello mushrooms, daikon radish, cilantro, carrot, and cucumber. and the salad was very simple, field greens with a balsamic vinaigrette.

We came home and Cassi went to work I stayed home and hung out. I cleaned up a little bit and laid low.

For Dinner: A bowl of cereal the Honey, Almond, flax 9 Whole Grain Crunch Cereal and an apple.

I know how boring that is, but I was exhausted, I don't know why, the princess party took a lot out of me I guess. Cassi came home, we watched some more olympics and then went to bed.

Day 158 (Friday)

I did not go to my cycling class today. I wasn't feeling super hot but decided I would do something active later on today. I went to my 9:30 class.

For Breakfast: We got this cereal from Trader Joe's  Honey Almond and Flax 9 Whole Grain Crunch Cereal. It is so good, today I had some with rice milk.

Cassi and I went roller blading today, all the way around Lake Union! It was great, I am not sure how long that path is but it is substantially longer than greenlake, which is 3 miles.

Cassi and I came home and were totally beat.

For Lunch: I made a small salad with romaine, mushrooms, onion and a few shrimp, and  I had an apple.

We relaxed for a little bit and then got ready for work. Cassi was first off tonight and came home a lot later than I did. I closed the restaurant tonight, it was slow but because I stayed I was able to make a little bit of cash. I had a cup of lentil soup while I was at work and I have been trying really hard lately to drink lots of water.

For Dinner: When  I got home Cassi had a salad ready for me, she is so sweet! Romaine with grilled chicken and black beans with a lime salsa dressing . . . obviously a favorite at our house.

Friday, February 19, 2010

Day 157

For Lunch: I had a few bites of Cassi's sandwich, we walked down to Pete's Market and got a sandwich. BLT with avocado on wheat.

I really wasn't very hungry all day. Cassi have had long standing plans with friends of ours for dinner tonight. They invited us to dinner at their house. Dinner was great.

For Dinner: Baked salmon with fresh cilantro, avocado mushrooms, cucumber and pita bread. They had everything set up like a pita bar, it was really fun.

We came home and watch some olympics and then went to bed. Still don't feel that great.

I had a scoop of Nonfat plain frozen yogurt when I got home too.

Thursday, February 18, 2010

Day 157

I woke up around 6:30 this morning with unbelievably bad cramps. Every so often I have a bout of cramps that completely knocks me out. I took some medicine thinking I would be able to go back to bed but ended up being in so much pain I threw up. I should have eaten something with my ibuprofen. At about 12:30 things finally started to calm down.

Today I have only nibbled on some Kashi 7 grain Crackers.

Day 156

Cassi and I went to play basketball. We had a lot of fun, she schooled me!

For Lunch: Grilled blackened chicken breast sandwich with sauteed onions and mushrooms, with lettuce, tomato, stoneground dijon mustard and fresh avocado on oat toast with sliced apple on the side.

We went to work, it was pretty good. Then we came home and I made a tiny salad for dinner.

For Dinner: Romaine with sliced fresh mushrooms, slivered almonds and grilled chicken breast with lemon and olive oil. for dessert, an apple.

Wednesday, February 17, 2010

Day 156

I woke up this morning feeling good. I have cramps but they aren't too bad. I challenged Cassi to a basketball game today so she is meeting me at the IMA after class and we are taking it to the court! She was so good in high school so I am a bit nervous. I stopped playing sophomore year so  . . . it's been a while. I took another progress photo of myself this morning, I fell of the wagon on that and haven't taken a picture in over a month. I will start weekly so when I post the pictures the album will be more complete.

For Breakfast: Coffee and High Fiber O's from Trader Joe's with rice milk.

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

For Dinner: Grilled Chicken Breast atop black beans with sauteed onions and jalapeno, with fresh avocado and salsa.

Cassi and I went to see Wolfman tonight. We brought some sliced apple for the show and also indulged in bit of popcorn, no butter. The movie was okay, not amazing. Now I am home and going to bed early for cycling in the morning!

Day 154

For Breakfast: Coffee.

Put in another couple of hours at Mini-me. We finished a lot of work! Then Cassi and I had to get ready to go back to Seattle. Mom and Dad met us at Scuttlebutt Brewery for lunch/dinner on our way home.

For Lunch: Iced Tea. Grilled chicken breast sandwich with onion, tomato, and lettuce and sauteed mushrooms with a green salad.

I went to work tonight and we got are butt's kicked. It was so busy and management completely under staffed us. They really threw us under, it was real frustrating.

When I got home Cassi and I made a smoothie for dinner, it was super simple, and super good.

For Dinner: Smoothie with fresh banana, frozen blueberries, nonfat plain yogurt with a splash of milk to thin it out a bit.

Day 153 Valentine's Day!

For Breakfast: Coffee. Two Eggs. One Piece of toast.

We got ready and went down to Mini-me. All four of us worked hard and then came home in the afternoon. We decided to go to the movies and to dinner for Valentine's day.

For Dinner: Pollo Asado. Grilled chicken breast with sauteed onions. Guacamole rice and beans and corn tortillas. also some chips and salsa. Gotta Love La Hacienda.

We went to see "Valentine's Day" it was cute.

Came home and relaxed. We did a small tequila tasting, where we tasted a blanco, repasado, and an anejo. I did indeed partake in that, just a sip of each.

Mom and Dad got Cassi and I some chocolates for Valentine's Day, we munched on those a bit too.

Day 152

For Breakfast: Two eggs. Coffee.

Mom, Dad and I went to town to get some supplies for mini-me. After we came home Dad got straight to work but Mom and I went to Marysville to talk to the paint guy. In case you don't know what Mini-me is, it's the house next door to ours that my parents are renovating, it's basically a smaller version of our house, hence Mini-me!

150 Days Down, A Lifetime To Go . . .

I am officially 150 days into my life change. I feel amazing. I am playing soccer again. I am absolutely thriving in school and in the rest of my life. I can't believe I am already 150 days into it, and ya know what? It's never going to change, there is no end to my staying healthy and taking care of myself mentally, physically, and emotionally. I will reach my goal weight, but that will just be a mile marker in my journey because now that I have taken control of my life I am not going to give it up. I feel like I am actively and productively living my life. I was out to dinner with Cassi and Nancy last weekend and I was explaining to Nancy how I don't just feel a change in my body. I am living consciously; in my education, in my relationship, with my body. This thing that started out in the kitchen has changed every aspect of my life. I have lost 28 lbs., I still have plenty to lose but I am on my way. On top of my weight loss I have proven to myself that if I put my mind to something I can do it, this gives me strength and confidence knowing that I am going to graduate in June and will be out in the real world.

After Tuesday's soccer game I already wrote that I feel amazing, but I can't stop thinking about how much better I feel now than last April when I injured myself. I was heavy, unhealthy, I wasn't applying myself fully in school, and I felt ashamed about all of it. I remember talking to my mom after I got injured, I didn't know yet that I had torn my ACL but I knew that it was bad. When I got home from Las Vegas I told her I thought maybe this would be a wake up call for me to take care of my body more than I have been. That tournament in Vegas was a low point for me, and I have been thinking . . . I want the chance to redeem myself.

Cassi and I have been doing a lot of talking, as our team continues to plan the trip to the same tournament. Cassi and I first answered that we would not be going, that we couldn't afford it and that it wasn't in the cards for us. The tournament and hotel are actually quite affordable, it's that darn airfare that's tricky. However, we are thinking about it again . . . I want to do it right this time and come full circle on the 1 year anniversary of my injury. Also, thinking about my thesis project this would be a fantastic wrap up to my story. I talked to my thesis advisor yesterday about the idea of this being the final act of my project and she was blown away.

My next step is to talk to my doctor and ask him whether or not he thinks it is smart for me to do this, obviously if I am not ready to play in the whole tournament I won't push it. I need to be realistic but really, my doctor and I are the only ones who can make that call.

We haven't committed to anything yet, but I am in better shape than ever and my knee feels amazing, I want to prove to myself that I can do it.

Day 149

For Breakfast: Toasted Peanut butter and Banana sandwich, coffee.

We woke up nice and early today. I was up at about 5:30. I have been so bad with sleeping through my cycling class that I woke up early to give myself extra time. I got my Geography Mid-term back today. I got a 91%. I feel good, but honestly I thought I did better so I am just a bit disappointed. Oh well.

I got home from school and did the dishes and made some food for Cassi and me.

For Lunch: steamed broccoli and shrimp with slivered almonds.

I helped Cassi make scones for her class tomorrow and I made an orange-honey butter to go with. She is doing a project in her nutrition class, she has to make and bring something that is something from her heritage, she is English so we made English scones she used to have growing up.

I ate a small dinner before work.

For Dinner: The last of the eggplant I made earlier with pesto marinara.

I got called off work tonight because it's s slow. :( so now I am home and going to catch up on some school work.

Day 148

For Breakfast: Peanut butter, banana and honey on toast.

Went to class and took my midterm in my Vikings class, I did really well! I love going into a test knowing that I am prepared, this is something I didn't used to value, but now it is so comforting! I came home and made myself lunch and relaxed a bit before Cassi got home.

For Lunch: Sauteed Eggplant with julienned zucchini (made to substitute pasta, like zucchini spaghetti strands!) with a pesto marinara.

Cassi and I rested up for our soccer game this evening. We went and I played the first half at defense, but when I came in for the second half I played my usual position, Stopper. I felt amazing, and completely comfortable being in my own position, it made a big difference in my confidence! We won 2-1 and Cassi had another amazing goal. After the game a couple of soccer girls came back to our apartment to watch the biggest loser with us, I made a little something to eat. . .

For Dinner: Romaine lettuce with spicy chicken, black beans, and salsa, yummy! Finished the night with some hot tea.

I took a really hard soccer ball to the thigh in the game and I have a huge ball imprint mark and bruise, I have never felt happier about that stinging pain, it's evidence that I really am back in it!

Monday, February 08, 2010

Day 147

For Dinner: Sauteed eggplant rounds with a garlic pesto marinara and plum tomatoes. Yummy.

Day 147

I am one sore girl today! That soccer game did a number on me, not my knee, my knee is fine, a little tired but good! The rest of my body, my abs, my thighs, my arms are killing me. I haven't used my muscles to run up and down a field for so many months, I am so tired! I slept in for my cycling class, which I am thoroughly upset about, I don't want to miss class often, but I have already missed a few, I better stay on top of it!

For breakfast: Two egg frittata with zucchini, green bell pepper, shitake mushrooms, and basil. Hot Tea.

Came home from class and made lunch for Cassi and myself.

For Lunch: Grilled Tofu on a Bed of romaine with red onion, capers, slivered raw almonds, dried cranberries and sauteed shitake mushrooms, and a homemade pesto vinaigrette. (I made homemade
vegan pesto and then used a little to make a vinaigrette for the salad.) To make the Pesto (Garlic, fresh basil, raw almonds, salt, pepper, and Extra Virgin olive oil)

I'm Back In The Game!!!

Today I played with my soccer team for the first time since my knee injury! I am 8 months and 2 days out of surgery and I feel amazing! This is a big deal folks! I am in the best shape I have been in since high school and I felt pretty good during the game. I can tell I have to work on my confidence and agility, there were moments that were painful, but now I can play again, and I am back on the field after only 8 months! Yay for me!

Day 146

For Breakfast: We went to 14 carrot cafe up the road for our apartment. I had coffee and a benedict with two poached eggs, roasted bell peppers, spinach, ham, and pesto. with fruit and a little bit of hashbrowns.

We visited a friend who was having a superbowl party but we left early to go to our soccer game, guess what. . . . I PLAYED!!!! The Whole Game! It felt good, I was pretty nervous but I thought I was ready to get back on the field. I woke up and thought, maybe today is the day. 8 Months and 2 days after surgery!

After the game, which we won, Cassi had the winning goal, we went to Nickerson's to watch the 2nd half of the game and ate some good food!

For Dinner: Veggie burger made with eggplant (and other things) with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onions on a ciabatta roll, with a green salad and a great house made vinaigrette. Iced Tea.

Now I am at home and super tired from the game. I have some serious studying to do and I have to get up nice and early for the cycling class. Good Night!

Day 145

For Breakfast: Two Eggs, Coffee.

Woke up and made breakfast for Cassi, she went to take her GRE today. I felt pretty crumby all day, and laid low. We had dinner plans with Nancy tonight, and I wanted to feel up to it. I just snacked on grapes and a couple of crackers for lunch.

For Dinner: We went to Icon Grill in Seattle, we were going to go a couple of different places but everywhere was packed. I shared a pear salad with mixed greens and spiced pecans for a starter and had grilled salmon and broccoli for my entree. For dessert we all shared an ice cream sunday, it was sinfully good. We also had some wine, what can I say it was a special occasion, we were celebrating Cassi's GRE completion.

Saturday, February 06, 2010

Day 144

For Breakfast: Handful of cheerios as I ran out the door to go to the gym, after spin class I had a non-fat vanilla latte.

Went and took my mid-term for my Immigrant America class. I was well prepared and I think I did pretty well, we will see! After class I went home and fixed lunch for the both of us . . . leftovers!

For Lunch: I took the extra veggies I grilled for last night's dinner, along with the left over brown rice medley with black beans, and sauteed everything together with fresh tofu, almost like a fried rice!

Pre-work Snack: I had an apple and a peanut-butter banana, and honey sandwich on toasted oat bread-bran bread. It was awesome, and took forever to eat,

I made good money tonight at work, and I finally feel like I am not playing catch up anymore with my bills. I feel absolutely awful. I think I was telling my body to hang in there at least until the midterm was over, because I have felt progressively worse as the day has gone on. I should have told by body to hold out a few more days . . . I have another mid-term on tuesday!

For Dinner: Toasted seeded baguette sandwich with tuna, capers, artichokes, dill, salt pepper, olive oil, lemon, with stone ground dijon mustard, and fresh arugula.

Good night!

Thursday, February 04, 2010

Day 143

For Lunch: Sauteed tofu, broccoli, and shitake mushrooms with a spicy sauce.

I have been laying low since I got home from school, I don't feel good. Cassi had her orientation today for volunteering at the UW medical center. She is super excited! We are going to do some studying and hopefully be done by the time Grey's Anatomy starts, I do indeed love my shows! We decided to have an early dinner so we don't have to worry about it tonight and we can go to the library or a coffee shop.

For Dinner: Chicken and Vegetable skewers with brown rice medley (from Trader Joe's: long grain brown rice, black barley, and daikon radish seeds) I added some black beans to the rice. I drizzled the dish with Salsa Authentica, a great salsa from Trader Joe's.

Evening Snack: Non-fat Frozen Vanilla Yogurt.

Day 143

I feel like I might be getting a little sick. I am trying to stay on top of it, I don't want to be sick! I am going to go to bed, and get some much needed sleep!

Day 142

For Breakfast: Cheerios and Rice Milk.

Got up and kicked my butt in the cycling class this morning. It was the most intense class we've had so far! I felt like a wet noodle when I was walking up the stairs to my classes this morning. Cassi and I went to Trader Joe's today after class! I certainly did need some things!

For Lunch: Multi-grain seeded Baguette toasted with tuna, artichoke hearts, capers and olives, with lemon, olive oil, dill, salt, and pepper. With organic sliced honey crisp apples.

I was just looking at my blog and figured out how to input photos into my posts, so from now on I will be able to put my food pictures right next to their description, I will still post everything on the slideshow, but now I can do it here too!

Tuesday, February 02, 2010

Day 141

For Dinner: 2 eggs. a cup of low fat granola and non-fat vanilla yogurt and a couple of celery sticks with organic peanut butter. It's just about all I have in the apartment.

I'm almost finished doing laundry and getting ready to settle in to watch The Biggest Loser. I have to make it to bed early tonight so I get up for my cycling class in the morning. It will feel good to get back after a whole week of not being at the gym.

Day 141

For Breakfast: Just coffee again.

Went to class and went to have lunch with Carly. She is a friend of mine here in Seattle and I haven't seen her for months.

For Lunch: Spinach salad with grilled salmon onion, walnuts, and mushrooms with avocado and lemon juice. Espresso and a couple of bites of a whipped cheesecake.

I need to get back into my routine of cooking everything. My blog is supposed to be about preparing everything that I put into my body, this is hard to do. I need to go grocery shopping but I don't have the cash, so I am trying to ride it out eating granola for dinner and grabbing lunch where I can, which is completely backwards because I am spending more money on eating out than if I went grocery shopping and prepared myself something. I am exhausted but I have to do lots of studying tonight and some laundry.

I am watching a documentary right now called "Food Matters" it is good. It's about eating well, and what it can do for your health. If you haven't watched it, you should check it out, it's SO interesting!

For Breakfast: two eggs and a multi-grain english muffin. Coffee. Later on I had two mimosas, Orange juice and champagne, those are so good!

We walked into town and watch the parade, which was fantastic and quite large for a small town like McCall. All fifteen of us strolled around the town looking at the vender stands and seeing the sights. after the parade we went to the beer garden. I had two beers during the time we were there, which was almost 4 hours, not too bad. Next to the beer garden there was a stage and live music played all day, we danced our booties off for hours!

For lunch: Cassi and I shared an order of veggie noodle stir-fry. By far, not the healthiest decision. We got it at one of the stands at the carnival, it was called "Island Noodles"

I had one more drink later on in the day, it was a cocktail with a new kind of Vodka that is apparently all the rave! It's called SweetTea and it tastes exactly like fresh brewed Iced Tea with some sugar. That and water on ice, it was amazingly tasty, and dangerous.

Cassi and I broke off from the group later on and went to dinner at a restaurant in McCall called The Mill. Apparently its the best place in town.

For Dinner: Grilled Halibut with Lemon and garlic mashed potatoes. It was very good. We also had bread before the meal came out and a small salad came with, I had mine with a homemade italian dressing.

After Dinner Cassi and I walked back to the condos and relaxed, everybody else went out on the town but Cassi, Teresa, and I stayed behind and played clean up. We tidied everything up and washed the dishes, we figured it would make for an easier morning, we had to be out by 10.

Day 137 (Friday Jan. 29th)

We stayed at Teresa's place and woke up super early to get on the road nice and early.

For Breakfast: Baked oatmeal with cinnamon, nutmeg and cranberries, this was a dish that Teresa's mom made for us and it was really good! Coffee.

We got up to McCall at about 10:30 and got into our condos. We rented two big condos side by side, about a 5 minute walk from the town. They were beautiful! Big balconies and a great view, and because Cassi and I came up nice and early we got to pick our bedroom! Teresa and her Mom went skiing up on the mountain and because of my knee Cassi and I stayed down and explored the town. We took so many pictures and they will be up on the slide show right away! Winter Carnival has these snow sculptures all over town and Cassi and I took pictures of as many as possible. In the evening, when everybody got home from skiing and boarding we all went to the hot springs. there was fifteen of us all together and we carpooled up to Gold Fork Hot Springs. I had never been to one before and I was absolutely blown away. I was a designated driver tonight and was happy to do it, everybody else was getting pretty silly, Cassi and I stayed collected. It was a full moon and the ski was clear, we relaxed in natural water that was over 100 degrees, it was amazing, there was snow all around us! It felt good too, Cassi and I did so much walking around today, and we even went ice-skating, which was funny.

For Lunch: We Went to this little cafe and wine bar in town called Bistro 45, I had a grilled, open faced sandwich with hummus, cucumber, onion, tomato with sprouts and a little salad of greens with a huckleberry vinaigrette. I had a glass of Pinot Gris too, we were feeling frisky.

For Dinner: After the hot springs we came home and everybody ate dinner. Teresa and her mom had made a huge thing of Chicken enchiladas, but I cooked myself a chicken breast on the grill and had a green salad to go with. I had two cocktails and I chose wisely, I want to make sure if I was going to drink, I wasn't going to drink anything too heavy. I had two vodka and sodas with lots of lime.

This was a wonderful day.

Day 136 (Thursday Jan. 28th)

For Breakfast: Just Coffee.

I went to class this morning and then came then went straight to lunch with my parents.

For Lunch: Salmon Caesar salad from Hale's Brewery, not that good.

Cassi and I left for our Idaho trip, We are both so excited! At the airport we had a nonfat latte and then we were off!

On the plane: A small glass of their featured beer, a Black Tusk Ale from Whistler Brewing Company. Horizon airlines provides complimentary beer and wine, and their always from great local companies.

We landed in Boise and got picked up by Teresa, who we were both excited to see. Then she took us out on the town for a nice dinner at a fun place, but I forget the name of it, it was a distillery.

For Dinner: Mixed Greens with Seared Ahi tuna and cucumber, with a sesame wasabi vinaigrette, and one beer, a Laganitas.

I decided I would let myself have a few drinks this weekend. I didn't want to put any restriction on myself that I didn't want to abide by. I was on vacation and I felt it was appropriate to participate, I had to be careful though, any tolerance that I ever had for alcohol is gone, I am one heck of a cheap date!
