Day 198

For Breakfast: Two eggs, over hard. Coffee.

Cassi and I have been trying out new coffee. We get ours from Trader Joe's and since they have such a great selection we have been trying something new every time. This time we have an Organic Fair Trade blend of beans from five different countries, it's a dark roast. It is really yummy. I definitely prefer a darker roast coffee, and I like it nice and strong, I think that runs in the family.

I don't have class until 1:30 so I am going to ride my bike down to the gym and kick my butt into gear!

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Day 197

For Breakfast: Nonfat Latte.

I had a couple of classes today and inbetween them I went to get my books at the books store. After I got home from school I got ready for work only to get a call as I was walking out the door that I was being called off.

For Lunch: Tomato Soup from Trader Joe's.

After I got called off work I changed into comfy clothes and relaxed with Cassi. She is still feeling really awful. I decided to make a really nice dinner.

For Dinner: Grilled Salmon with piccata sauce., with blistered broccolini, and whipped fluffy mashed sweet potatoes.

Day 196 (Monday)

I had just one class today. It's called "The Geography of Food and Eating" How great is that? I am exited bout this one. I think it's going to be very interesting.

For Lunch: Grilled chicken with black beans, lettuce and salsa on corn tortillas.

I went to work and closed the restaurant, it was decently busy. Cassi has been sick for the past few days, she is really not feeling well. After I got home from work I checked on her and made myself someything to eat.

For Dinner: Salad with butter lettuce and radicchio, mushrooms, olives, and slivered almonds with hearts of palm.

Day 195 (Sunday)

Today we went to Santa Monica. It was hotter than usual, even for down in Southern California. I think reached somewhere around 87 or so. We went to a farmer's Market that is located right in the heart of Santa Monica and about a block from the beach. The market was great and it was wonderful to see all of the local foods.

For Breakfast: Nonfat latte. Cassi and I split a muffin.

After the market we cruised the shops and eventually made our way down to a Pizza shop in Venice.

For Lunch: Cassi and I shared a couple pieces of pizza. One had chicken and jalapenos and the other had pesto, onions, and spinach, both were very good.

At the end of the day Cassi and I headed to the airport. We got some dinner before we boarded the plane.

For Dinner: Grilled Salmon on a bed of lettuce with walnuts, papaya, and avocado. Delish. I had a beer with dinner.

This officially marks the end of my spring break. We had an incredible trip, filled with really fun trips and events, great "splurge" food and a handful of great margaritas and other spirits. No more drinks for me!

I have less than a month until the Vegas tournament and I really have to kick it into gear. No more alcohol, school starts tomorrow and I need to get going on my workout schedule!

Day 194 (Saturday)

Emily had to work in the morning. Fortunately she works in Malibu! She dropped Cassi and I off at a coffee shop by the beach and we hung out until she got off work.

For Breakfast: Nonfat Latte and a bran muffin.

Cassi and I walked along the beach area in Malibu it was amazing.
After Malibu we went back to their apartment and relaxed by the pool. We had leftovers from dinner for lunch today. We had some margaritas and had ourselves a quite a nice time.

For Lunch: Pulled pork and black beans.

We laid low for most of the day and then wen out for sushi.

For Dinner: Spicy tuna, california, and veggie rolls. It was great sushi.

Day 193 (Friday)

We woke up around 8 and it was already a beautiful day in LA. Today is Disneyland Day! We stopped by Jesse and Emily's favorite coffee shop on the way.

For Breakfast: Nonfat latte and a Honey Bran Muffin.

It took forever to get to Disneyland but we did finally get there. We had such a blast! We went on so many rides and walked around the entire park. It is hard to not get stressed out about all the people, you have to be completely relaxed and not in a hurry because it sure is crowded there!
It was such a beautiful day. This is Cassi and I entering the park. We both ended up getting a little sunburnt.
Cassi and I on the Matterhorn.

Emily, Jesse, and I waiting for the Indiana Jones ride!
Minnie Mouse ears!

For Lunch: Caesar salad at the park. Not too bad, but it's expensive to eat in the park.

After all of our adventures were over we got some dinner at a Mexican joint in the area.

For Dinner: Slow cooked pork with black beans, pico de gallo, and rice with corn tortillas, and a margarita!

We headed home after a full day of Disney Magic!

Monday, March 29, 2010

Day 192 (Thursday)

For Breakfast: Two poached eggs with roasted bell peppers, spinach, a slice of ham, and pesto with an english muffin. Coffee. We got some breakfast on our way to the airport.

Cassi and I got the the airport nice and safely, we took the Link train, it's so convenient. We landed in LA and got picked up by Jesse and Emily. The very first thing we experienced was that famous LA traffic. It was awful! When we finally got to their apartment we settled in. They have a great place with a guest bedroom where Cassi and I stayed.

We freshened up and went to dinner. We met up with a few of their friends.

For Dinner: Salad with Grilled chicken and black beans with some crispy tortilla strips and avocado. A Margarita that was amazing!

The place we went to is called Sol y Luna (Sun and Moon) It was amazing Mexican food and a really fun atmosphere. After dinner we went to a bar where a band was playing. The band was a 80's cover band that supposedly is really popular. They all dressed up like the "Revenge of The Nerds" guys and they were awesome. We had a great night but we were exhausted from the flight.

Thursday, March 25, 2010

Day 192

I am am up early getting ready to go. I want to finish up a few house chores before I leave; make sure the dishes are unloaded from the dishwasher, make sure everything is locked up and nice and tidy. I am SO excited for our trip!

Day 191

I woke up and started doing laundry. Tomorrow we leave for LA to visit Cassi's brother Jesse, and his girlfriend. I had a lot to do in the way of clothing! I am so excited, I think we're even going to Disneyland. I'm sure we will eat some really amazing food too, I would love to explore some great LA spots. Maybe during one day we could even go to a farmer's market. Who knows. I have never spent time in LA before, just that once when we drove down there as a family.

For Breakfast: a pear sauce (applesauce, but with pear) and a coffee.

I went and got my hair cut today. I didn't tell anyone what I was going to do, but I chopped off all my hair, I will have to upload a picture! I cut off around 10 inches. It's a little too short to donate. I love my new hair and boy was Cassi surprised! We met mom and dad for Happy Hour at Eastlake Bar and Grill and they were surprised too!

For Happy Hour: Caesar with dressing on the side and grilled sockeye salmon, and a Gin and Tonic with extra lime.

Cassi and I stopped in at a nail salon just up the road from our house and got pedicures to kick off our vacation, plus we really needed them. This place was such a pleasant surprise, it was so nice and the ladies were so friendly! Not to mention, our toes look excellent!

Cassi and I went home and packed, our friend Ainslie came over and we drank some wine and hung out. We ordered some salad and pizza from Pagliacci's.

For Late Dinner: Green salad with garbanzo beans, bell peppers, and onion, and a slice of pizza with basil and olives on it.

I felt awful after eating the pizza, I just goes to show how much better I feel when I make good food decisions and not bad ones.

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Day 190 (Tuesday)

I woke up super early and drove up to Arlington to meet up with Josh. We went to the outlets and did some spring/sumer shopping.

For Breakfast: Fruit bowl with pineapple, grapes, mango, papaya, strawberries, and kiwi. Nonfat vanilla Latte.

I had great luck at the outlets and bought some nice things. It still find myself taking sizes into the dressing room that I used to wear. I try things on and they fall off me. That feels great and it's starting to sink in how much thinner I actually am. After shopping Josh and I met up with his girlfriend for lunch. It was my first time meeting her, she is very nice.

For Lunch: Avocado Tostada with chicken, lettuce, salsa, avocado, and a hard shell tortilla.

I went into work early tonight. It was an okay night. The last few days work has been rough. There is a convention in town of some sort and the people who are here for it are from all over the place and are horrible tippers. My last table of the night left me three dollars on $90, which was all in nickels and pennies.

For Dinner: Salmon filet and Steamed broccoli. I had a margarita after work, it was great and worth it after my rough night!

Day 189 (Monday)

I worked a double today. I woke up this morning and got ready for work. I went in at 11 took a break at 3 and returned at 5. I finally left at 10.

For Breakfast: Just some coffee.

I didn't get a chance to eat much during the day but I had a late lunch.

For Lunch: Spinach salad with mushrooms, onions, walnuts and avocado with bacon and balsamic vinaigrette.

Day 188 (Sunday)

Woke up this morning. I laid low. We had a game this afternoon.  Cassi woke up early and went to study for her last final.

For Lunch: BLT on wheat with a side of toast.

We played a tough game but lost 3-1. My knee is feeling better every day. I hardly notice it anymore, and my muscle is starting to come back noticeably. Mom, Dad and Josh game down and we hung out at the Condo and grabbed some dinner at our favorite thai restaurant.

For Dinner: Vegatarian Red Curry with Eggplant, broccoli, bamboo shoots, tofu, carrots, bell pepper with brown rice.

Day 187 (Saturday)

Cassi and I laid low today and relaxed. We went into work early and got some lunch.

For Lunch: Spinach salad with walnuts, mushrooms, onions, and a touch of bacon with a balsamic vinaigrette.

We got slammed at work tonight, we made great money but it was exhausting!

Day 186 (Friday)

Today I woke up and Cassi and I biked around lake union, a 6 mile trip. Not bad, only took us 35 minutes or so. Then I came home and got ready to meet up with mom and some family that's in town for lunch and a day of Seattle sightseeing.

For Lunch: Salad of mixed greens with grilled chicken.

Jenna, who is the daughter of my mom's first cousin is in town from Pennsylvania checking out a school. She and her mom are out and today we went all over Seattle proving to them how wonderful it is here.

I went to work and had a pretty good night. Cassi and I went out on the town with Jenna and caught some great late night happy hour, some live music, and some great Seattle hospitality!

For Dinner: Vegan veggie burger from McMenamin's Pub and a beer.

We had a fantastic night! We had a couple of beers around town and called it a night.

Thursday, March 18, 2010

Day 185

Can you believe that I am more than a half a year into my journey. Last night when Keith saw me he said I was skinny, I know it's a relative observation but it felt pretty good! While I was relaxing and enjoying my leisure time on Spring break yesterday I started in on the book Cassi got me for Christmas. Being in school prevents me from reading books for me because I spend my time reading books for school. The book is called Fat of The Land by Langdon Cook. It is about local seasonal food in the Pacific Northwest, more specifically western Washington. It is so interesting and a really well written book.
So far Langdon has talked about digging for Razor Clams on the Washington coast, morel foraging, and other wild mushrooms, fiddlehead picking and catching squid off the public pier in Seattle in the middle of the night. I am absolutely fascinated by everything that he talks about in the book, and he even includes recipes of what he made with his fresh Washington delicacies.

Day 184

We did indeed do a bit of St. Paddy's Day Celebrating tonight. When Cassi got home from work we walked down to Pete's and got bottle of wine and some snack food.

For Dinner: Blistered asparagus and smoked salmon and sea salt crackers. Just some light fare.

We each had a glass of wine and then went out to meet up with some friends in Ballard. We went to a great Irish Pub called Conor Byrnes. Before we went home we drove up the road to meet up with a friend of ours named Keith. He used to work with us and we stopped in. I had a beer there, making my grand total of beers, three! I was getting pretty crazy! My alcohol tolerance is at about zero. We had a great time and it was good to cut loose, but I've got a lot of work to do to burn off those heavy alcohol calories.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Day 184

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

For Breakfast: Granola with nonfat vanilla yogurt.

For Lunch: Diced chicken sauteed and tossed with broccoli and slivered almonds with some salt, pepper, and garlic.

I just finished cleaning up around the apartment. I did the dishes, some ironing, cleaned the living-room etc. . . Now I am sitting at home and contemplating whether I should go workout, or go to Lowe's and look at the herb plants so I can get started on my little herb garden.

Day 183

Oh man! I had such a good workout at the gym today. I was there for like 3 hours! I started with a 3 mile run on the treadmill, then did weights, and then I did abs (crunches, planks, push ups etc.) then I went swimming. I didn't last very long in the pool, my body felt like jello. I rode my bike home just in time to get ready and go to a work meeting I had to be at.

For Lunch: Homemade smoothie with nonfat plain yogurt, frozen strawberries, fresh banana and a dash of Almond milk. It was awesome.

Cassi and I came home and rested for a little bit before she went to volunteer and I went to the conditioning workout with our team.

The workout lasted two hours today and was great! We started with a mile and then did hill sprints, and core. We finished up with work on the agility ladder, calf burners, and a series of pushups that almost killed me. After the workout a couple of us went to y work and had a bite to eat.

For Dinner: Filet of salmon with a piccata sauce (lemon, capers, artichokes, butter, salt, pepper, garlic, dill) and steamed broccoli with shitake mushrooms.

Picked up Cassi from volunteering and we got home and crashed, I was so tired from my day of working out!

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Day 183

For Breakfast: One egg, one piece of toast and coffee.

I am going to ride my bike to the gym and do a hard workout, I have to work off my celebration margarita from last night. I really want to make myself an herb garden for my patio, and I have today and tomorrow off. I have been researching a couple of tips, but I have never really done much gardening, I know it's just a potted herb garden but I want to make sure I do it right, does anybody have any tips??

Day 182

For Breakfast: Granola with almond milk and a couple of sips of coffee.

I went to my final today at 8:30, I knew everything on the test! OUr studying really paid off and we will see if I made sure to write everything down. With written response questions you never know how the grade is going to turn out, but I did the best I could and I was very thorough. I feel amazing, I'm on spring break!

Cassi met me after class and we went to the book store and returned my books. Then we went to Recycled Cycles and got my bike fixed. I don't know why I waited so long to have it fixed, maybe I was thinking that it was going to cost a bit of money, but he fixed it in 10 minutes and it cost 7 dollars! Now my bike is as good as new and I am going to ride it all over during spring break!

For Lunch: Black Bean and Chicken Chili.

Cassi and I ran all over the place today looking at bikes for her and running random errands. Then we went our to celebrate my ending of the quarter!

We went to The Matador and had a Margarita and a couple of appetizers ( fish taco, and romaine salad). Then we went to the movies!  We saw Crazy Heart which was good, amazing acting, I like Jeff Bridges.

For Dinner: We went to our favorite Thai place, Jhan-jay Thai. I had Tom Kha Soup: Hot and sour soup simmered with coconut milk, galangal, mushrooms, lemon grass, cilantro, kaffir lime leaves, and steamed tofu.

We stopped by the condo to finish up some laundry because we ran out of quarters and Dad was there! I had not seen him since before he left for London, it was great to see him. By the end of the night Cassi and I were exhausted, we went home and went to bed.

Day 181

We had some errands to run today. We woke up decently early and went to the Ballard Farmer's Market. It is spring and the produce and flowers are already here and gorgeous. Then we went to Fred Meyers and picked up a few things.

For Lunch: Taco salad with sauteed shrimp, peppers and onions on a bed of romaine, with pico de gallo, guacamole and salsa.

We came home and did some laundry. I made my chicken and black bean chili for the week. After all of our chores were done a friend of mine came over at five to study for our final in the morning. It's worth 45% of our final grade! Cody and I studied for five hours, and we made sure we covered everything!

For Dinner: Chicken and Black Bean chili topped with fresh cilantro and avocado.

Day 180 (Saturday)

We finally slept in for a while! Cassi and I didn't get up until around 11. It was much needed sleep. After that we got up and I made some breakfast:

For Breakfast: two eggs, 1 piece of toast and coffee, and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. Last time Cassi and I went to the produce stand we got a huge bag of grapefruit.

We went to our soccer conditioning workout today. It was 1 1/2 hours and super intense. Lots of running, pushups, and crunches! I had to hurry home after that and get ready for work.

Work was pretty good, not slammed but pretty busy. There is some kind of convention in town and that has helped the business the last few days. Cassi and I went out for a glass of wine after work. We thought we deserved it.

For Dinner: One glass of wine. A spinach salad with sauteed shitake and oyster mushrooms with grilled radicchio and a honey cider vinaigrette. I had a small scoop of gelato for dessert.

Day 179 (Friday)

For Dinner: After work Cassi and I met up with a friend at eastlake bar and grill. I had a Caesar saladwith no cheese and a grilled sockeye salmon filet. Yum Yum.

Friday, March 12, 2010

Day 179

For Breakfast: Coffee. Raisin Bran with rice milk.

I just came back from my final in Geography. I think I did pretty well! I should get a good grade in the class, we will see.  I have my Viking final on Monday morning and then I am done for the quarter! I am about to go have lunch with my class at portage bay! yum!

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Day 178

For Dinner: Marinara with Turkey meatballs zucchini, mushrooms, and bell peppers with fresh basil and garlic. Would have been excellent on pasta . . . that that's not my style!

Home now and going to study for my final tomorrow!

Day 178

I just got back from Greenlake. I rollerbladed around the lake once and then put my running shoes and ran the whole thing without stopping. One time around is three miles. I just ran three miles non-stop after rollerblading three miles! I was so proud of myself I actually started crying when I ran the last stretch . . . plus it was windy and rainy and just plain crummy outside!

For Lunch: Leftover Spanish rice sauteed with some leftover grilled chicken and mushrooms zucchini and bell peppers. Yum.

Day 178

For Breakfast: Coffee. One Banana.

I am home now and I think I am going to go roller blading. I want to get a workout but I don't feel like going to the gym.

Day 177

For Lunch: Homemade Turkey meatball soup with spinach mushrooms and broccoli. I also had some granola and yogurt.

I met mom today for our jog around Greenlake. We jogged the whole way, stopping at after each mile to do some core strengthening. It felt great! After that I rushed home and did some studying with a friend for our final on Friday.

For Dinner: Grilled Chicken Breast marinated with chili powder, cayenne, salsa, and lime. with black beans that were simmered with fresh jalapeno and a spanish rice pilaf I made, which I basically seasoned with the same mixture I marinated the chicken in.
All your comments on my progress photos meant so much to me. It is so rewarding to post hard evidence of my hard work after this long. I am still going strong and your comments are a huge part of what keeps me going. Thanks for your support, this entire journey wouldn't be possible without my people there cheering me on! Goodnight!

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Day 177

For Breakfast: One egg omelette with crimini mushrooms, bell pepper, and zucchini (it's my favorite mix) and half a grapefruit and some good coffee!

I have something to show you . . . . This is the first time I am posting a progress photo. The First picture is me, at the very beginning I starting taking progress photos at about 5 days into my journey. The second picture is from this morning. I have many many pictures I wanted to show you my results so far of everything that I have done. I look like a different person. Looking at these photos makes me so proud of myself!
177 days into My Journey, Almost 30 lbs Gone.
Don't mind my face, I just woke up in both pictures, it's when I feel the thinnest.

Day 176

For lunch: Homemade turkey meatball soup. With shitake mushrooms spinach chicken broth and green onion. I used a similar recipe for the meatballs as I do for the turkey burgers. Grated zucchini, carrot, garlic, salt, pepper, thyme, egg, and I threw in a splash of bread crumbs, and of course the 99% fat free ground turkey breast. Browned in an iron skillet and finished in the oven. This was a delicious soup!
After lunch I hung out at home and then got ready for my evening of strenuous activity. I had a snack before I left.

For Snack: an Apple and some granola and nonfat plain yogurt.

I met mom at Biosonics. It's hard to get there by bus so I decided to walk. I took a bus to the U district and then walked on the Burke Gilman trail to Fremont, where the office is. It's at least a 2 mile walk. Mom and I went to Greenlake and walked the first 2/3 and ran the last mile of so. It's a great trail, I hope to make a habit of meeting mom for our run/walk. Right after that was done I ran across the street to the track and soccer fields and met some of my teammates for out conditioning workout. We ran a mile for a warm up, then did planks, then some sit-ups, pushups. Then we did jog/sprints, followed by an indian run which is basically a mile of running while passing a 9 lb medicine ball and sporadic sprints. I was exhausted. Mom and I went to some thai food, and I was hungry after a total of almost 8 miles of running/walking.

For Dinner: Tom Yum soup. A thai hot and sour soup with clear broth, veggies (mushrooms, broccoli, carrots) and steamed tofu. It was so good. We accidently ordered the wrong spring rolls, they were deep fried! We ones we wanted are fresh rolls. It was a bummer and they weren't even worth it.

I came back to the condo with my mom and we watch some TV.  I had a piece of 72% Dark Chocolate which was heavenly and totally worth it. Then Cassi picked me up after she got done volunteering. Night Night.

Tuesday, March 09, 2010

Day 175

For Breakfast: Very small cup of Vanilla Crunch Granola and rice milk, before cycling class.

Cycling class was good. I was talking to a another woman in my cycling class, she is 6 months out of ACL surgery. She had the same surgeon as I did. We connected on our rehab stories. Both of us are having trouble getting our strength back in our thighs. I worked my leg really hard today during class. I peddled with just the one leg for a lot of my class. After class I went home and prepped some food for the week.

For Lunch: Spicy chicken and black beans on romaine, with salsa.

I laid low and then got ready for work. It was a great night at work, nice and busy! I made some good money and was beat after my shift!

Sunday, March 07, 2010

Day 174

For Breakfast: Omelette with zucchini, bell pepper and ham and a cup of fruit. Coffee.

Cassi and I had a soccer game today. We both didn't feel that great from drinking last night. I wasn't hung over but my body just isn't used to having any alcohol in my system. It felt good to run it all out on the field. The team we played was really good, we lost, and the worst part is, we could have won, we didn't play well. After the game we finally went grocery shopping.  We got so much great stuff!

For Lunch: Chopped salad with romaine, garbanzo beans, bell pepper, basil, green onion and some mushrooms with red wine vinaigrette. It was nice to come home and make a fresh salad with a kitchen stocked full of ingredients.

Cassi and I laid low for a little and then I got ready to go into work. Mom came down to stay at the condo tonight and she came in to work and had some food. I made decent money tonight. The last few shifts I have had have been a lot better, money wise.

For Dinner: I ate a small cup of vegan lentil soup at work and made myself a frittata when I got home with zucchini, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Yummy.

I am exhausted and have to get up and get my butt to spin class in the morning!

For Lunch: Spinach with cannellini beans, artichokes, and crispy prosciutto with a pesto vinaigrette. It was a really good salad!

Mom and I dropped Cassi off at work and took Dad to the airport and then did a little shopping. My mom is thinking of getting a car and so we looked around at the Volvo dealership. Then we started on a mission to find work pants for me. We found some great pants, I guess I just needed my moms help!

After out long day of activities we headed home, but stopped to grab a bite first.

For Dinner: Green leaf lettuce with bell pepper, onion, garbanzo beans, and artichokes with a dijon vinaigrette, and water.

Day 172 (Friday)

I did not go to my spinning class today. I woke up early and finished my lesson plan for my class today.

For Breakfast: Just coffee.

I went to class and then came home. I brought in my final treat for class today. Mini cupcakes from Trophy cupcakes in Wallingford. These are the same cupcakes that Ally and Shay used for their wedding and they are simply the best in the world.

My class enjoyed them very very much!

For Lunch: Romaine with spicy chicken, black beans and avocado with salsa.

I went to work tonight. It was pretty decent not too slow, I made some money and was off at a decent hour.

For Dinner: Mixed greens with grilled chicken cucumber, and tomato with a thyme vinaigrette. We ate at Elysian Brewery on Capitol hill. It has great food, great beer and it's super well priced! Cassi and I split a beer.

Then home and to bed!

I made reservations today for my focus group to go to lunch on our last day of class. I went to class. I just had some coffee for breakfast.

After class I come home and made myself lunch.

My friend Ainslie called me up and asked to go on a walk around the neighborhood with her. It was a beautiful day here and it was nice to get our and enjoy it.

After Cassi got off of work she came and met up with us. We went to the Zoo Tavern and played shuffle board and munch on a few peanuts. I had half a beer.

Cassi and I had some thai food for dinner tonight and went over to the Condo in Ballard and used the hot tub. It was so relaxing.

For Dinner: Vegetarian thai food. We shared a red curry dish with eggplant, broccoli, bell pepper, steamed tofu, and other veggies and another dish that mainly broccoli and tofu. It's from Jhan-jay Thai, it's soo good!

For Breakfast: I just grabbed a coffee before class.

After class Cassi and I ran some errands. Then we went home for lunch.

For Lunch: A bowl of my homemade soup, The chicken, veggie, and homemade noodles.

I took a small nap. I don't feel that great, and I have been super tired all day. I was "on call" tonight and didn't get called in so I have some time to relax tonight. We are at our bare minimum in groceries. The next few days might be filled with cereal or oatmeal for dinner.

For Dinner: 3/4 cup of Whole Wheat penne pasta from Trader Joe's with marinara sauteed mushrooms, onion, and bell peppers. I would never have pasta, but I don't have much in the cupboards.

I think I am going to read a little and then go to bed early.

Tuesday, March 02, 2010

Day 169

I picked up two shifts at work today and I worked 9 hours. I finally made some money, it is indeed that time of the month again and bills are due.

I'm exhausted, I am home and ready for bed.

Day 169

For Breakfast: Sauteed mushroom omelette, just one egg.

Monday, March 01, 2010

Day 168

For Breakfast: Honey Almond and Flax with 9 Grain Cereal with Almond milk.

I was so tired and so sore today in class I could hardly move and I almost fell asleep. But I finished my paper and from how sore I was I definitely got a killer workout in yesterday.

After class Cassi and I cleaned the apartment and I made lunch and soup for later.

For Lunch: Tuna with artichokes, capers, and kalamata olives with lemon, olive oil, and salt and pepper on a whole wheat baguette. Coffee.

I woke up early and made coffee today. Cassi and I had a huge day!

For Breakfast: Coffee, half a grapefruit and oatmeal.

At 11 o'clock we met up with some soccer buddies and did a conditioning workout circuit that one of our teammates organized. It was intense. We ran a total of over 4 miles, and did tons of core exercises: planks, push-ups, sit-ups etc. It was hard but it felt good and it is exactly what I need to help me get in shape for the Vegas tournament.

After the exercise Cassi and I came home and made lunch.

For Lunch: Spinach salad with red onion, mushrooms, walnuts, and salmon with lemon and olive oil. It was really good. Along side for some extra energy we had a small cup of black lentils.

I iced my knee and laid low until the next event on our schedule. Cassi and I had a soccer game at 4:30. We won, and it was a great game, Cassi had 2 goals! Immediately after the game Cassi and I had to run home and get ready for our annual work party. Our work throws our "Holiday" party later because we are so busy during the holidays.

For Dinner: They always have great food at the party, It was a huge taco bar this time. I had romaine lettuce and black beans with chicken pico de gallo and guacamole. Yummy.

Neither Cassi or I drank but we had a really great time regardless. I sang a couple of Karaoke songs and mingled with all my co-workers. After the party we came home and tackled our homework. Cassi did some studying and I stayed and completed my paper. I very full day!

Day 166

Today was a low key day. I woke up and started some laundry and worked on reading for a paper I have due on Monday.

For Breakfast: Two eggs a oat bran toast. Coffee.

For Lunch: Grilled Mahi Mahi and steamed broccoli. This was a bigger lunch, because we planned on having a smaller dinner, Cassi had to work tonight.

While Cassi was at work I continued to work on homework and when she came home we watched some Olympics and worked on homework.

For Dinner: I know it's boring but I just kept it simple and had a bowl of cereal. the Honey Almond Flax 9 Grain Crunch with Almond milk.

Day 165 (Friday)

Cassi and I met up with a soccer buddy and we went to the Seattle Art Museum for a Remix event. There were DJs and performances. Apparently they have events like this every so often. It was fun! We grabbed dinner at a place downtown.

For Dinner: Salmon with black lentils and a sunchoke puree sauce. I also indulged in a cocktail with muddled ginger and lemon with Ice tea flavored vodka.
